Basic Sports First Aid

Our basic sports first aid training course will give you all the necessary first aid skills to deal with a wide range of sporting incidents.

Who should attend?

Anyone involved in sporting activities - from referees and coaches to players.

Act 1st welcomes young people from the age of 12 onto all our community first ad courses. Children under the age of 16, must attend with a responsible adult. A member of the family or guardian (two young people per adult). 

Course content

Identifying and providing assistance with injuries and medical emergencies that can occur during sporting activities. Including:

  • Bleeding
  • Managing an emergency
  • Bone, muscle and joint injuries
  • Primary survey
  • Managing a casualty outdoors
  • Communication and casualty care
  • Extremes of heat and cold
  • Unresponsive casualty

Course duration

  • One day


Continuous assessment by trainer


Successful candidates will receive an Act 1st certificate which is valid for two years.
